Dr. Tomas Egoavil

Veterinarian

Dr. Egoavil's Bio

Dr. Tomas I. Egoavil, DVM, is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. He attended Florida International University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then graduated from the University of Minnesota and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He has worked with Dr. Gauer and Dr. Green at Ham Lake Veterinary Hospital since 2019. Dr. Egoavil speaks fluent English and Spanish.

Dr. Egoavil enjoys hiking the trails throughout Minnesota and visiting his family and the ocean in Florida. He has a very sweet rescue dog named Rita from Alabama.

Dr. Paul Gauer

Veterinarian

Dr. Gauer's Bio
I have always loved animals and pets so working with them all day and learning how their bodies work fascinates me. Every day, I feel like I am making a difference in the lives of not only my pet patients but also their human families as well.

Dr. Paul Gauer grew up by the Mississippi River in Ramsey, Minnesota, and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Minnesota in 1993. He founded the Ham Lake Veterinary Hospital in 2005, and in 2014 his wife Dr. Amy Green Gauer started the Isanti Pet Clinic. When away from the office Dr. Gauer enjoys spending time with Amy, whether it’s golfing, canoeing the BWCAW, or spending time with Amy’s grown triplet sons. He also likes getting out in the woods with Rei, a Brittney Spaniel, who also comes to the office with him daily.

Amber's Bio

My name is Amber. I have been a Veterinary Technician for eight years at Ham Lake Vet; I got hired while in college and have been here since. I attended Argosy University; I graduated in 2016. Now I’m the Hospital Manager here. I have two young kids, two dogs (Butters, Gator) and a cat (Wicket), and I can’t forget my betta fish (goldy). During my free time, which with two kids a year apart, it’s hard to have, I enjoy yoga, reading, traveling, and knitting.

My name is Hannah, and I have been at Ham Lake Vet since 2019. I have always loved animals and knew since I was little that I’d have a career working with them one day. I couldn’t picture myself doing anything different! When I’m not at work, I spend time with my daughter, fiancé, and four fur babies, Callie, Winston, Sox, and Achilles!

I graduated with an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Minnesota School of Business in 2014, and have been working at Ham Lake Veterinary Hospital since 2019. Veterinary medicine is my passion and I would not be happy doing anything else. I have a teenage son, 2 dogs, and 4 cats it is a full house but it is never a dull moment.

Hi! I’m Kayla; I’ve been a tech since 2010. I started my career as an emergency tech and still have a passion for helping with complicated cases. I spend most of my time with my “kids” at home when not working. I have a small herd of horses, a pack of dogs, a few cats, a flock of chickens & ducks, a handful of pocket pets, and a trio of peafowl. I enjoy showing my horses when not cleaning the barn or fixing the fence.

I’ve loved animals since I was a kid; my goal is to go back to school to become a CVT and work in an equine hospital or a zoo. I’ve got four animals of my own that keep me pretty busy. I love riding, reading, hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, and traveling domestically and internationally. I’d love to learn a couple of new languages, photography, vegetable gardening, and calligraphy.
